A New Beginning

Savithri's mail earlier, "What abt the fate of our yahoo Grp?Rao Garu?!" made me think, why restrict ourselves to yahoo groups?

Moving to another group is an option, but that will be no different. Another thought came to me where the interactions can be in the form of a group blog.

As you all know, blog is a form of publication (no impact factors here!) of one's thoughts (or rants) on the internet. Group contributions can be had, thus we could have a group blog for jipmerians. There will be no emails but you go to the blog site once in a while (or you may set alerts to let you know when something new is posted) and read, and comment. Main contributors or authors can start a topic and write on it. All others who read the blog may comment or just read and enjoy.

Example topics could be (based on recent mail conversations)

Transitmycin -  pilgrimage to patent

Jasmin and the twin buds

Our days in JIPMER - Late night movies at Safire

45th grand meeting

The first thing needed for this is to set up a blog, which is what this is. It is hosted by google and is free. The next step is to have some dedicated contributors or authors or writers. I will add all whoever wants to write, at least once in a while, on topics of general interest, major news, scientific discussions, events, etc. I have invited some that have recently written main threads in our group mails. I will be adding others slowly once things are going smoothly and I get to figure out all the things needed there. If you did not get an invite from me and urgently want to write, please, please write to me at raofront@yahoo.com.
One requirement I understand is you have to have a google account, which many of you may have. If not get one (I have raofront@yahoo.com and got raofront@gmail.com). I do not think you can do without a google account, since blogger is a google service.
